Newl K. Dotson, M.A., Executive Director
(276) 523-2315 • newl@harvestccm.org
I thank the Lord for the privilege I have had for the past fourteen years to impact many children's lives through Harvest Child Care Ministries. From our first dreams of the children's home and throughout our history we have always promised the Lord to go wherever He sends us and do whatever it takes to minister to hurting children. I have never been the typical Executive Director nor has my administrative team been typical administrators. Our administrative style has never been to sit behind our desks and limit ourselves to “administrative duties”. We believe that God has called us to work with children and that is what we do.
We whole-heartedly believe in the method Jesus used to carry out ministry. Never did He just sit behind a desk and give orders. He spent His time out in the highways and hedges; up in the mountains and down at the sea shores; in the temple courts and in individual homes working hands-on with those in need. He traveled, ate, rested, and recreated with those He loved. He cried, mourned, talked, laughed, rejoiced, and prayed with them. He fed, clothed and healed His children. Jesus led his disciples by example.
I thank the Lord for our administrative team. They faithfully serve whether it is feeding children in the remote mountains of Mexico; spending time hiking with them in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia or exploring caves far under the earth's surface; sharing with them the grandeur of the seashore; or working as relief houseparents in one of our cottages our administrators faithfully serve our
children - hands-on and hearts-on!
Thank the Lord for this calling. Thank the Lord for the privilege to heal hurting boys and girls by simply giving them our time and our love. Thank the Lord for the opportunity to serve Christ through kids!
